Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — they were designed to work together. Think of Rise as your system’s daily “on” switch (supporting energy, clarity, metabolism) and Rest as the “off” switch (calming the nervous system, aiding recovery, improving sleep).
Together, they create a 24-hour cycle of support — from your mitochondria to your mood. You can take them at opposite times (Rise in the AM, Rest 30–60 mins before bed) for full circadian alignment.
Rise doesn’t “stimulate” you — it supports the systems that generate real energy and clarity.
It works by:
- Fueling ATP production (your body’s energy currency) with ingredients like CoQ10, B-vitamins, and magnesium malate
- Supporting cortisol balance to reduce that wired-but-tired rollercoaster
- Enhancing focus, recall, and cognition through magnesium L-threonate and B12
- Optimizing metabolic function so your body actually uses what you feed it
Translation: more clarity, less brain fog, and steady energy you can actually trust — without relying on caffeine.
Rest is a blend of 6 vitamins, minerals and herbs that work together to calm your nervous system naturally, so to ease stress and promote relaxation.
- Magnesium bisglycinate + taurate relax muscle tension, calm the body, and support digestion
- L-theanine + passionflower modulate GABA to quiet the mind and reduce restlessness
- P5P (activated B6) supports serotonin and cortisol balance, which is crucial for sleep and mood
- Schisandra, passionflower and chamomile help with hormonal stress resilience and cycle-sensitive regulation
Together, they help your body exhale — so you sleep deeper, wake clearer, and repair at the deepest levels.
Magnesium deficiency is alarmingly common worldwide - the World Health Organization reports that up to 75% of Americans do not meet the recommended daily intake for magnesium. This is due to poor dietary habits, reduced food quality, stress, medical conditions, aging-related changes, and medication use. Many people have subclinical magnesium deficiency, which doesn't show obvious symptoms but leaves them in suboptimal health.
While magnesium is important for everyone, it is particularly critical for women - learn more on our blog article here: What Are The Benefits of Magnesium For Women? Pregnancy, Fertility, PMS, and More
We view magnesium as the ultimate multitasker and superhero for your body. Think of it as the mineral that helps your body shift from “go mode” to “recovery mode” — which is why we love it so much for calming the nervous system and supporting metabolism.
It helps regulate over 300 biochemical processes — including muscle function, sleep, energy production, mood, and stress response. Low magnesium levels are often linked to fatigue, anxiety, poor sleep, and hormonal imbalance (hi PMS).
Because no one form does it all — and your body deserves more than a one-size-fits-all solution. Each magnesium type in our formulas targets a specific function:
Rise
- Magnesium L-Threonate crosses the blood-brain barrier to support memory, focus, and cognition
- Magnesium Malate helps produce ATP — your cell’s main energy source
- Magnesium Taurate helps calm the nervous system and regulate your stress response
Rest
- Magnesium Bisglycinate is incredibly gentle and supports relaxation, digestion, and muscle recovery
Together, they support both your morning momentum and your nighttime wind-down — a full-spectrum approach to feeling like yourself again.
The difference between the various types of magnesium is that each one is attached to an amino acid or a compound that will impact their absorption and how they are primarily used by the body. Our formulations are based on the various levels of magnesium bioavailability and the additional benefits of their amino acid/compound counterparts to serve the product purpose.

Along with their individual properties specific to energy production and cognition, all three forms have higher bioavailability than other magnesium forms and are gentle on the digestive system.
- Magnesium L-Threonate is proven to effectively cross the blood-brain barrier, helping to improve cognitive performance, mental clarity and focus
- Magnesium Malate supports natural energy production (Krebs cycle) by helping metabolize carbs, proteins and fats into usable energy and real fuel
- Magnesium Taurate has been studied for its ability to improve learning and memory by directly enhancing hippocampal synaptic plasticity. While this research is not strong, it shows significant promise for improving cognitive function, memory and neurological conditions.

The daily servings of Rise and Rest are safe and within the upper-limits of B-vitamins.
B vitamins are water-soluble - meaning they dissolve in water, are absorbed into the blood stream and not stored in the body (except B12 & B9). Any excess is excreted in urine, which requires regular dietary intake to maintain optimal levels and reduces the risk of toxicity.
Upper limits have been established for vitamins B3, B6 and B9:
- Vitamin B3 (Niacin): 35 mg per day upper limit; 5 mg per serving (day) in Rise; not in Rest
- Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine): 100 mg per day upper limit; 25mg per serving (day) in Rise, 25 mg per serving (day) in Rest, 50 mg per serving (day) total in the Bundle
- Vitamin B9 (Folate): 1,000 mcg per day upper limit*, not in Rise, 250 mcg per serving (day) in Rest
Due to low toxicity levels, Vitamins B1 (Thiamine), B2 (Riboflavin), B5 (Pantothenic Acid), B7 (Biotin), and B12 do not have established upper limits.
Symptoms of Vitamin B overdose include: skin issues, gastrointestinal problems, neurological effects, mood changes, blood pressure changes, vision problems; and a healthcare provider should be consulted before taking high doses of B vitamins near or above these upper limits.
*An upper limit for folic acid is set at 1,000 mcg daily because studies have shown that taking higher amounts can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency. (Source: Harvard School of Public Health)
Daily value percentages is set by the FDA as a general guideline for nutrient intake to ensure basic nutritional needs are met across the general population. This largely ignores what is recommended for optimal health and individualized needs especially those faced by women undergoing, or about to undergo, critical milestones such as TTC, pregnancy, breastfeeding, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause and so on. It's also important to note that daily values were set in 2016 and may not reflect any changes in dietary preferences, agricultural methods etc that impact the average adult's nutrient intake.
For B-vitamins, it is common practice and largely safe to formulate with high dosages:
- Most B-vitamins are water-soluble, meaning excess amounts are excreted in urine, reducing the immediate risk of toxicity compared to fat-soluble vitamins
- Individual absorption rates and metabolic needs can vary widely due to genetics, lifestyle or health conditions.
- Certain populations are more likely to be deficient in B due to factors such as age, dietary restrictions, medical conditions or medication use
- Emerging studies suggest that high doses of certain B vitamins can reduce oxidative stress and inflammation by lowering homocysteine levels, which is linked to improved cellular metabolism and brain health
That said, B3, B6, B9 do have tolerable upper limits — but total B-vitamin exposure across Rise + Rest is well within tolerable upper intake levels for healthy adults, even when taken together daily.
In most cases, yes — but be mindful of stacking too many similar B vitamins, especially B6 or high-dose niacin. Our formulas include high effective support and — more isn’t always more.
We recommend giving the full 30-day cycle. Because nutrient stores take time to replenish and these supplements support deep systems like your nervous system and hormone rhythms, the real magic happens with consistency.
Based on our focus group findings, participants began to notice subtle shifts in the first 15-20 days — clearer focus, calmer mornings, falling asleep faster. But the deeper benefits (hormonal regulation, stress resilience, true energy balance) take time and consistency to build and repair at the root source.
We built these formulas to actually work —but we also understand that bodies are complex and no product is magic for everyone. If you've been consistent for 4 weeks and still don't notice a shift, consider:
- Checking your dose timing (especially for Rest, which works best 30-60 mins before bed)
- Ensuring you're not mixing with stimulants or sedatives that may blunt the effects
- Reaching out to us — we'd love to help troubleshoot with you
But if you are not satisfied after trying our product or for any reason, we're happy to offer a refund of your first bottle within 60 days.
In most cases, yes — Rise and Rest were formulated to fit seamlessly into most routines. But as with any supplement, it is always recommended to consult with your healthcare provider prior to use.
Rise and Rest were formulated to fit seamlessly into your routines, and many of our ingredients are commonly recommended during TTC, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
However, ingredients such as herbs, antioxidants and adaptogens are understudied, especially on pregnant women. While our formulating doctors are comfortable that these ingredients and dosage levels may be safe while pregnant, it is always recommended to consult a healthcare professional as with any supplements during pregnancy.
Yes. Both Rise and Rest are free of hormone disruptors, caffeine, or synthetic compounds that might throw off your balance. In fact, many of our ingredients (like magnesium, B6, and adaptogens) are supportive of hormone pathways — especially for cycle regulation, PMS, and burnout-related fatigue.
That said, everyone’s body is different — so we always recommend speaking with your provider if you’re managing a specific hormonal condition like PCOS, endo, or thyroid imbalance.
Absolutely! Rise and Rest are not gender specific and we have many male customers who take and love our products.
